The Ole Clock-Radio

Years ago, I used to set alarm to wake me before I really needed to get up, and hit snooze a few times, then I finally got up.

Then one day, I had a brainstorm; hey, I can set the alarm to wake me up at the last minute in order to get to work on time, and thereby get that much more sleep. So that's what I did; as soon as alarm went off, I bolted out of bed and got ready for work.

If you use the snooze - you are a buffoon!

  1. i must heartily diagree. there's nothing so disconcerting as waking up to an obnoxious noise and realizing that you must "bolt out of bed" as you put it. i'd rather be lulled awake slowly and incrementally until finally there is nothing to do but rise. this in turn preserves the sacred relationship between myself and my alarm clock.

  2. i also disagree, even slightly more heartily. i set two times about 15 minutes apart. in this way i get up turn off he first then go asleep until the second one goes off. in this way i can gradually wake. as opposed to the abrupt waking that you describe. plus it has been said that waking up too quickly may cause testicular lumps.
